Deaf trailblazer Tasha joins Great British Bake Off for a sweet slice of history

 

It’s been unveiled that this year’s Great British Bake Off will feature Tasha, a 27-year-old from Bristol who is Deaf. She is the show’s first Deaf contestant and aims to follow in the footsteps of other prominent Deaf individuals in television, such as Rose Ayling-Ellis, who triumphed on Strictly, and Tasha Ghouri, a former Love Island contestant.

The program will also introduce her interpreter, Daryl. On X (formerly known as Twitter), Tasha posted:
