We had a ‘Full House’ with over 60 people from the vibrant D/deaf community who came together for an unforgettable evening, marking a significant milestone in our journey of reconnecting after the challenges posed by the Covid pandemic. The event, a true testament to the resilience and strength of the community, was a resounding success, leaving everyone in attendance with cherished memories.

It was heartening to witness the warm and lively atmosphere as people mingled, sharing laughter and stories. The sense of community was palpable, and the event served as a reminder of the importance of fostering connections with one another.  Lets face it, it has been a while!

The occasion was not only a joyous reunion but also a testament to Deafness Resource Centre (DRC) dedication to creating inclusive spaces. Attendees were treated to a delightful spread of hot food of ‘Scouse’ including a veggie Scouse, adding a culinary flair to the festivities. Bingoer’s were also greeted with mulled wine, creating a cosy and festive ambiance, perfect for the Christmas Bingo to get us in the spirit!

Prizes added an extra layer of excitement to the evening, with lucky winners leaving with smiles and tangible tokens of the night.

As the evening unfolded, it became clear that this was more than just an event; it was a celebration of community, connection, and the unwavering spirit that binds the D/deaf community together.

Looking ahead, anticipation is already building for the next event on the horizon – “Valentines Bingo.” DRC are excited to continue fostering a sense of togetherness, laughter, and shared experiences.
