A massive Thank You to the Trustees at Garfield Weston Foundation

The Deafness Resource Centre (DRC) is celebrating with a heartfelt “Thank You” to the Garfield Weston Foundation  for their generous £20,000 grant. This substantial support will contribute to the DRC’s operational costs over the next year, helping them recover from pandemic challenges and enhance their governance structure.

The grant from Garfield Weston Foundation comes at a crucial time for the DRC, which, like many charities, has been hit hard by the pandemic and the cost-of-living crisis. It not only helps them overcome financial hurdles but also strengthens their ability to meet an increasing demand for support services. The pandemic has brought unprecedented challenges to organisations like the DRC, but with this grant, they can look forward to recovery and growth. Strengthening governance will put the charity in the best possible position for future development and longer-term sustainability.

What is the Garfield Weston Foundation?

Established in 1958, the Garfield Weston Foundation is a family founded grant-maker. Each year the Foundation gives away its income, and its donations have continued to grow. It has donated over £1.4 billion in total, with half of that amount donated in the past 10 years alone. In the most recent financial year, the Foundation gave way nearly £90 million to over 1,980 charities.
