For the first time, See Hear is dedicating an entire programme to support BBC Children in Need, and Yvonne and Julian are on a mission to spread BSL across the nation. However, they won’t be doing this alone as they have enlisted a very special guest to help them, Pudsey! And excitingly, some of the children who regularly attend the Deafness Resource Centre and Deaf Active in Liverpool are part of the programme!!! What stars!
Yvonne and Julian visit projects supported and funded by Children in Need, including Deaf Action, who provide both valuable support and a community space to socialise for deaf youths. Yvonne visits Youth Vibe, a project set up by the Deafness Support Network, who run weekly activities to encourage and support young deaf people. She offers some culinary tips as the group bake Pudsey-inspired cupcakes.
Later in the programme, Pudsey is in Hertfordshire to visit one of the largest specialist schools for deaf children in the UK. Children in Need help fund a family support worker that’s made a difference to the whole school community.
Finally, Yvonne drops in to surprise presenters from Morning Live and tests out their BSL signing… but how will they do?
